Lucy is a small cat. On a warm afternoon, she walks past the garden and finds a small pond she has never seen before.

Lucy walks closer. The water is calm and clear. She looks down and sees something looking back at her. She says, "Ooh, what's this?"

"It's me!" she says, surprised. It is her own reflection in the water. She moves her paw, and the reflection moves too.

Lucy laughs a little. "That's funny," she says. She taps the water gently with her paw, and small ripples spread across the surface.

As the water settles again, Lucy notices something else moving beneath it. She says, "Ooh, what's this?"

"It is a fish!" she says. The fish is orange and gold, swimming slowly near the surface. Lucy watches it closely, careful not to scare it away.

"Hello, little fish," she says softly. The fish swims closer, then darts away quickly, disappearing under a lily pad.

Lucy sits by the edge of the pond. She notices dragonflies flying just above the water, their wings shining in the sunlight. She says, "Ooh, what's this?"

"They are dragonflies!" she says. They move quickly, stopping for a moment before flying off again. Lucy tries to follow one with her eyes, but it's too fast.

A gentle breeze blows across the pond, making the water ripple softly. Lucy feels the cool air on her fur and closes her eyes for a moment, enjoying the peaceful sound of the water.

After a while, Lucy stands up and stretches. She takes one last look at the pond, at her reflection, and at the fish swimming below.

"This is a beautiful place," Lucy says. "I will come back again soon."

She walks home slowly, feeling calm and happy after her quiet afternoon by the water.

See you next time, Lucy!
