Lucy is a small cat. She likes to explore near her house. Today, she walks toward a big tree.

Lucy looks up. The tree is very tall. She sees something moving near the top. She says, "Ooh, what's this?"

"It is a squirrel!" she says. The squirrel runs up and down the branches quickly. Lucy watches it with big eyes.

"I want to go up too," Lucy says. She puts her paws on the tree and starts to climb.

Climbing is not easy, but Lucy is determined. She moves slowly, one paw after another. The bark feels rough under her paws.

When she reaches the first branch, she stops to rest. She looks down. The ground looks far away now.

"This is high," Lucy says, "but I can do it."

She climbs a little more. She sees something small stuck between two branches. It is round and grey. She says, "Ooh, what's this?"

"It is a bird's nest!" she says. Inside, there are three tiny eggs. Lucy looks at them carefully. She does not touch them, because she does not want to scare the mother bird.

A bird flies close and lands near the nest. It looks at Lucy.

"Don't worry," Lucy says quietly. "I am just looking."

The bird relaxes and sits on the eggs again. Lucy smiles and climbs back down slowly.

When she reaches the ground, her paws feel tired but happy. She looks up at the tree one more time.

"That was a big adventure," Lucy says. She sees the squirrel again, now sitting on a low branch, eating a nut.

"Goodbye, squirrel," Lucy says. "Goodbye, bird."

Lucy walks home slowly. The sun is warm on her fur. She feels proud of what she did today.

"I climbed so high," she says, "and I found a nest with eggs inside."

See you next time, Lucy!
